One of the most stressful times of my life became lighter by doing this one thing.
My husband was listening to me talk about my day one night and said, “You need a hobby.”
I wanted to smack him because how was I going to fit in a hobby with everything else on my plate?
I took his advice to heart and developed my talents in photography… and took a sewing class and created pillows and black-out curtains for several rooms in the house.
And guess what? He was right! I had more energy for work and other things. Being creativity stimulated other areas of my life.
Not only can creativity recharge your batteries, it strengthens your confidence and sense of self.
Using your hands to be creative - and to take something that exists as an idea into physical form - is a wonderful way to uplift and inspire yourself.
It can remind us that there’s a masterpiece inside of each of us and that we’re safe to be that work in progress.
Choose your medium - coloring, crafting, knitting, painting, sculpting, drawing, photography, sewing, whatever calls to you!
